Mahjong for Alzheimer's Awareness is a series of gatherings that bring friends and community together around the tile table to play, connect, and give back.

Each event carries its own theme — like our Red, White & Mahjongg 4th of July celebration — pairing a festive afternoon of friendly Mah Jongg with a shared mission: supporting families affected by Alzheimer's and all other dementia.

From celebration and connection to raising awareness and funds, the series is designed to bring people together around purpose in a way that feels personal, joyful, and impactful.

Red, White & Mahjongg Benefiting the Alzheimer's Association

In support of the Alzheimer's Association, Mississippi Chapter

June 28, 2026 Herrin-Gear Chevrolet

During Alzheimer's & Brain Awareness Month, HG Cares hosted Red, White & Mahjongg at Herrin-Gear Chevrolet — a 4th of July celebration honoring the USA's 250th birthday. The showroom filled with 14 tables of Mahjongg-loving, big-hearted friends for an afternoon of laughter, friendly competition, and generosity, all in support of families affected by Alzheimer's.

Together, we raised $4,328.67 for the Alzheimer's Association, with 14 tables full.

Congratulations to Alison Callahan, our lucky winner of the "Let Freedom Ring" grand prize collection.
